Mocha Moms Brooklyn Chapter’s Lunch & Learn: Developing & Supporting Strong Readers

In celebration of “Black Children’s Books Week,” the topic for Mocha Moms Brooklyn Chapter’s virtual Lunch ‘n Learn is Literacy– hear from a preschool director, literacy coach, and a reading/literacy advocate about how to effectively support and encourage our readers, regardless of age. This panel discussion will explore how to support young children who haven’t started to read yet (newborn- preschool), how to support the development of strong literacy skills (preschool- elementary), and how to encourage both our struggling readers and our strong readers (remedial vs enrichment opportunities for all grades). Stay afterwards for the daytime Sister Social, to ask questions, and connect with other mothers of color. This event is open to Mochas and non-Mocha Moms, so feel free to share with your network.
