BLACK CHILDREN’S BOOKS IN SPECIAL EDUCATION

Join Black Children’s Book authors Leenadria F. and Augustine Charles with special guest Mrs. Funbooks to discuss the importance of black children’s book in special education.

Leenadria F. is Executive Director of Other Side of the Wall Pediatric Brain Tumor Association and is the author of Brother’s Day Out which focuses on creating joyful moments between siblings and peers when one has developmental challenges.

Augustine Charles (aka Nfinite Threat) is Co-Founder of Other Side of the Wall Pediatric Brain Tumor Association, Advocate for equity, and author of Charlie’s Adventures: The Cloud Kingdom which uses a magical story centered around a black child to teach children about cloud science

Mrs. Funbooks (aka Kathleen Boo) has been a Special Educator and tutor for more than 20 years known for having breakthroughs with children with significant learning disabilities. She is the architect of Mrs. Funbooks, a character who loves sharing her joy for reading, tips for struggling readers, and building an awareness of the Special Needs community.  Kathleen and Mrs. Funbooks are always hopeful because anything is possible.
