Library on the Go: Black History & Art in the Park!

Celebrate Black History Month and Black Children’s Book Week in 2024 by honoring African American artists and their contributions! Join us at Dr. Rev. JWH park for a special program highlighting influential painters, such as Alma Woodsey Thomas and the locally celebrated Florida Highwaymen. Children’s Librarian Ms. Tea will read excerpts from “Ablaze with Color: A Story of Painter Alma Thomas” by Jeanne Walker Harvey. Children can unleash their creativity with all supplies provided for make-and-take works inspired by Ms. Thomas’ techniques and the natural surroundings.
